A HUGE FESTIVAL COMING IN 2018

The 3rd Armenian Film Festival Sydney Australia will commence from 17-26 August 2018 at the Events Cinema Top Ryde. The festival will formally open with the Australian premiere of the Armenian, Belgian, and French produced action comedy, Bravo Virtuoso.

Festival Co-Directors Margaret Chater and Hourie Demirjian, along with their committee are pleased to formally announce their third Festival, which will also see writer-director Anahid Abad attending the film festival for the Australia first premier of their controversial film YEVA. Her film was the Armenian submission in the best foreign film category for the 2018 Academy Awards

Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian will be in attendance of the festival Opening Night Gala to be held Saturday, 18 August 2018 at the Events Cinema Top Ryde.

Bluepoint Consulting Pty Ltd, specialised financial and investment services are delighted to partner with the Armenian Film Festival as the major sponsor, as the festival showcase amazing Filmmakers, Producers, Directors, Actors of Armenian and non-Armenian heritage to the Australian shores.

The festival will comprise of 15 feature films, short films and documentaries with genres including comedy, drama, and action, as well as Armenian cultural and historical themes.

Some of the other Festival big hitters to note include multi-award winning documentary Crows of the Desert, the film Lost Birds, and special feature film Path of our Dream, which will wrap up the festival on 26 August 2018.

ABOUT ARMENIAN FILM FESTIVAL

From Friday 17 August to Sunday 26 August 2018, the 3rd Armenian Film Festival Sydney promises to offer Sydneysiders an entertaining journey into Armenian culture and history through the many genres of films to be showcased.

The season’s festival will demonstrate the progression from traditional Armenian themes to arthouse, whilst still maintaining the cultural thread. There is a compilation of feature films, short films, and documentaries. The sessions will offer post-viewing discussions and the opportunity to meet the artistic creative behind select films.

Relatively new to the industry scene, the 3rd Armenian Film Festival Sydney is fast gaining in momentum with a growing fan-base.
